Acrylic 40" x 54" Contemporary, designer painting for interior decor

WELCOME

It is my intent to share and relate a force within which compels me to create. My forms are simple, my coloration is vibrant. I strive to achieve vibrating, glowing effects within my work and to establish a dialogue between viewer and self.

It is my desire to involve the viewer with my work so that it becomes a part of the viewer's environment; and in turn, the viewer's environment becomes a part of my work.

My work is influenced by the great Modernists and Abstract Expressionists, such as Mark Rothko and Jack Tworkov, who were well-known New York artists in the 1940's and 1950's. They were pioneers of the Abstract Expressionist movement in the 1940's. I studied under Jack Tworkov in the 1970's at the University of California, Santa Barbara, California.

As the Director of Arpel Gallery during the 1980's, I worked with George Rickey, a pioneer of kinetic sculpture, in arranging an exhibition of his work in Santa Barbara.

"The progression of a painter's work, as it travels in time from point to point, will be toward clarity....To achieve this clarity is, inevitably, to be understood."
